Sexual Offenderman Scuplture by arcanineryu Sexual Offenderman Scuplture by arcanineryu
My final project for my figure drawing course. the assignment was to make some piece of art that incorporated the figure/human anatomy in some way, and I had been meaning to make something like this for awhile now, so i figured might as well make you guys a bunch of happy campers and make one of smexy since he's a pretty simple dude visually speaking, and it's way easier to sculpt something non-human like him, rather than a more realistic human where you only have so much wiggle room. it's way harder to screw up making a monster-guy like him.

this is one of those sculptures where you make a wire/tin foil armature underneath and then sculpt a layer of clay over top of it,letting you get way way more detailed than you could ever get with stuff like porcelain clay that you fire and glaze and all that which is really meant more for making pots and such where you have to work
it was like mind blowing for me to only barely have to consider stuff like thickness and supporting it's own weight! although i did run out of clay near the end so instead of having his trench coat around his waist i just made him a nifty little censorship hoodie instead.

all in all not too bad for a first try with this sort of technique, but i could probably do a lot better next time around.

why don't you throw in the rest of the bodyparts like abs, knee's, neck, etc. while you're at it X3

seriously though, i'm actually pretty proud of how his knee's turned out

X] of course! but if i did that Smexy head would grow bigger from all the ego going to his head then it would explode.....maybe.

indeed, knees are hard for me to draw (and impossible will how low my level is in clay working is) but for you to make them and be proud of them is brilliant!

One of his knees looks somewhat weird, and back muscles are useful stuff to learn too. And a very thick neck makes the head look too small. But the arms seem okay, and the hands look awesome! I don't wanna talk about abs, for I don't really understand them, but they're usually narrower and there's some side muscles that come to the flank-bones (or whatever they're called, those muscle-covered bones that really stick out in bodybuilders).

Hehe, I remember making a clay figure of an OC that resembled Smexy a lot in personality and style. Only he was human, with long black hair, dark round glasses and no hat. Some Smexy humanizations remind me of him.

In truth, there seems to be no end in the long succession of artists pointing out each other's anatomy mistakes :D A few days ago it was me who got criticized for some anatomy mistakes in Smexy (the best character for anatomy practice ever, for he has a gorgeous body and none of these annoying noses and ears). I'm sure even the best artists, the ones who draw superheroes for comics, get criticized by doctors - for I happen to have some experience with medical education... :D

i don't think it would survive shipping since it's made of soft clay, but if you really want to buy something from me i could make you something similar out of ceramic clay, just be aware that it would take a few months to do since i can't work on it until after break, and even then it takes a few days to sculpt, a week or so to dry, and then another week to have it fired and painted, so i'd probably ask that you pay half upfront, but on the bright side you could tell me exactly what you'd like me to make, i could make a few sketches for you, and all that jazz.

That sounds really cool but I think you have enough to do, I don't want to stress you with that. X3 And I would need a paypal account (but it would totally worth it^^)
