Depends on what kind of drugs and/or liquor I’m on.

Arc:….. one time, near when I first met smexy, and was stupid enough to let him take me on,… “adventures” with him, he tried to put me in a scenario in which I would have been potentially roofied and raped by a group of men, deciding that since our deal only stated that he personally wasn’t allowed to try and have sex with me without my consent, that he could use that as a loophole he could exploit, and just get someone else to do his dirty work.
his plan never ended up getting very far, as I ended up catching onto his intentions pretty quickly when he did nothing to come to my aid when a man started threatening me, and he did next to nothing to try and hide his guilt when I started to call him out on it, admitting that he would have only intervened if it had looked like I were about to be killed.
In the end I was able to convince him to get me out of it unharmed, but after that I refused to give him an inch, and got to further refining our deal so that he couldn’t pull a stunt like that with me again, including him trying to force on me or take advantage of mind altering substances, or his mental tampering in order to force me into false consent.
So now? as far as I’m concerned, he can’t be trusted in anything, and I had better not forget that.

At it’s core, this character is about allowing those who have not had the horrific experience of rape the opportunity to encounter the issue of in a safe environment, and in a way that encourages them to not gloss over the subject not only within real life, but within fiction as well.

Believe me. Simply telling someone that something is “bad” is not enough to bring them to understand or appreciate why something is bad.

Context is needed in order to clarify for those not already familiar with the topic.

And you’re also rather naive to think that being a victim of rape is even the story I’m here to tell in the first place.

How about I explain it to you?

This blog, is the story of a young woman, having to deal with a near-constant threat of rape, abuse, or even death from a sadistic monster that not only won’t let her be, but also at almost every turn tries to trivialize the action it is all to eager to commit in order to try and bring her guard down, and then take the opportunity to exploit her in quite possibly the most demeaning, life threatening, and mentally traumatic experience she could possibly hope to face in her life.

That is what this blog is.

So sure it may be funny at times, but what more do you expect from someone trying to make light of an incredibly dark scenario over the long months? and what more do you expect from a dangerous creature trying to take advantage of how trivialized the heinous crimes he commits are within many cultures, in order to draw in victims like moths to the flame.

because make no mistake, this is not a “sexual” blog. you wont find any porn or smut, and about the most explicit stuff you’ll hope to find are either grizzly murders or a single picture of Sexual Offendermans naked butt. it’s not a blog about titillation, it does not treat rape as wank material, in fact it doesn’t really treat anything as wank material.

But it does draw in those who would associate rape as something “sexy”. in fact it does that in droves, at which point they are given the opportunity to follow a story that treats rape with far more respect then the vast majority of content they will probably encounter that day, coming complete with it’s own memorable antagonist to personify the complex topics at hand, and the harm that they can cause.
(An antagonist so blatantly named that you know almost exactly what sort of heavy stuff you’re probably getting into just by looking at the name. And no matter how poorly his fans might label their works, as long as they mention his name the audience will always be warned.)

And to argue that “I’m doing it wrong” because I’m not shoving my opinions on the matter in everyone’s face? or because I personally am not a victim? or because I’m making the topic more palatable for those who aren’t eager to be smacked in the face with the potential severity of a crime rape is and would rather slowly build up their understanding to that point?,  or because I’m doing all this on some role play blog on tumblr?

Well allow me to tell you a quote that helped me to gain greater perspective in how to teach others.


"Teach them through the means with which they are comfortable."

Now this quote was given to me in the context of using table top role playing games in the similar vein of dungeons and dragons (and later on videogames) as a tool for teaching a new generation about the horrors of the holocaust,

and about how it’s wrong to think that a method of telling a story is inherently insulting to the story being told, simply because of social stigmas about the medium being made for children, or some other vague arbitrary reason.

Well, my mediums are in comic’s, short stories, and an interactive blog, and they’ve been doing pretty decent so far.

Sure, It could probably be better, that’s something I’m fully aware of and am working to try and improve, but things take time, and not everything can be changed in a day. Especially since it seems like what I’m doing here? This thing Ive created? Might be genuinely unique, meaning I can’t just look to someone who already got it right and parrot it all from them to save time.

But regardless, I understand the responsibility placed upon me by having allowed this character to become as popular as he is now, both to those who have been victims of rape, and those who have not.

As well as to those like you, who are all too happy to jump to conclusions, because you feel you have no reason to think to do otherwise. that the use of topics like rape is already just such a lost cause on the internet, that it cannot possibly be treated with any amount of respect by creative minds.

Well, here’s to hoping I can prove you wrong, but if trying to convince you is a lost cause, then I’ll settle for simply continuing to do as much good as I can, and leave you to stew in your own opinions.

All I ask is that you leave those of us who actually have the courage to at least try to make a difference well enough alone, because unless you have something constructive to add, then simply disagreeing with attempts at change for the better will do nothing but help to keep things every bit as bad as they are now.

And we wouldn’t want that now would we?))

I think your confusion though comes from this. If you ever ask him what he wants to eat (and i mean seriously, not as an innuendo) he’ll probably ask for some kind of sweets, like cake or candy or ice cream or something, but he’ll still probably eat whatever you put in front of him.

and to be honest, its hard to really say for sure. I mean even from the beginning, the whole rose contract was just kind of, there, as an aspect of his character without any real explanation for it, and to this day Ive yet been able to find an explanation that feels correct as to why he would have such a rose contract in the first place.
but i will say this. I do think that the rose contract is a method of restraining him, possibly to a greater extent than what he’s willing to talk about for fear of it being used against him, but beyond that it’s all speculation, since i doubt we’ll be getting any sort of concrete answers any time soon.
