Well it took me awhile, but it finally came up with an explanation as to why Slenderman would allow Smexy to live. Now my inspiration for this idea came from three main sources, first a Slenderman movie called Wendigo, the second being a Slender game in which you killed Slenderman, and the third being that one piece of art here
jessaraeisawesome.deviantart.c…
on deviantart which talks about proxys being able to kill their slender-master.
Now be aware that I’m not necessarily claiming this as cannon for anything, especially considering the prerequisites necessary for this to really come into play, those being that senderman has a physical body, and can be killed/injured. But anyway on with the theory.

So the movie Wendigo ends with slender being burned to death with the main protagonists escaping from another film student who was driven mad under the slender’s influence, with the epilogue showing the crazed guy having been captured by the authority’s and being interrogated, when suddenly he has some sort of fit and you see flashes of him turning into a slender himself and hints at him murdering his interrogators. Again in the videogame, you see something similar, with a man trying to get revenge on the Slenderman for taking his child, only finding that in succeeding in killing the Slenderman, he then becomes the monster himself, so it got me thinking, what does happen when you kill Slenderman?
well, what if you didn’t actually kill him? What if you just displaced his essence or whatever and forced him to get a new body?
So what if Slenderman didn’t want to have to start over from a new human body when he was killed? I’d imagine it would be a bit of a task returning to full strength after such a thing, which might be fine if he has the time for it, but what if there was something that could actually pose enough of a threat to slenderman, that he couldn't risk going through that period of weakness of adapting a new body?
Well why not just take one from some disposable, battle-ready slender-being? His powers would probably increase rather than decrease from such a thing, and in an emergency, that sort of power boost could be pretty useful.  Personally I like how dark of an explanation this could be for why Smexy’s kept around, much better than something like “he’s his brother and he cares about him”(although that’s fine in the lighter storys) and is a pretty interesting sort of plot twist for story’s that involve trying to kill a slender.
And speaking of which, this theory could mean something pretty interesting for proxys, after all, if he just jumps to another body when killed, why not find the best one’s available and set them up for just such an occurrence? It could give them a whole new purpose and meaning to them not just as a servant, but also a fail safe, so not only would you have to kill the slender, but also every last one of their proxys and everyone, or perhaps even everything in the vicinity of its death, including whoever was doing the killing, which seems pretty tragic all and all.

I also considered how grim of a sort of thing this could be for whole Arc-Smexy storyline. I mean think about it, she want's smexy dead, but what happens when you kill a slender?
Same thing goes for the tribe twelve guy, he goes through great lengths to escape and/or kill the slenderman, but guess who's next in line for when slenderman is dead?
Here's a hint, it's probably not observer.
But this also fits in well with that one post that was going around about a trusted proxy's ability to kill their slender-master. It never really explains how the proxy is able to fight back, even to the point of killing their slender master, but think about it, what better ability to give a trusted proxy in case they ever go nuts and try to attack them then to give them the ability to sever the slenders connection to their current body? And for an ability only given the most favorite and trustworthy of proxys, that the slender really doesn’t want dead, all that’s necessary for it to make sense is for the slender to be able to hold off on taking full control of them long enough for their trusted proxy to find them a different body to take, and would make sense as an ability given only to their favorite proxy. I also find this theory useful for the couple of fanfics I’ve come across that included killing proxys as a necessary step in weakening Slenderman.
Since my next info dump is probably gonna be especially spoiler-riffic, figured I'd post this first.
